Why Wigram Business Park?

The Wigram Business Park is located on Hayton Road in Christchurch.

The site is approximately 25 hectares, zoned Business 4 and has 52 proposed lots. The first stage of the development, which has no building ties to Ngāi Tahu Property, will be subdivided in to 17 lots with sizes ranging from 2,149m2 to 1.66Ha.

Wigram Business Park will not only provide for businesses in Christchurch who may be expanding but also offers a safe alternative for operators who may be looking at relocating or re-establishing their business after being affected by recent events. The development is also ideally placed for firms expanding to Christchurch as part of the rebuild.

All lots will have access to fibre optic cabling.

Location

Wigram Business Park is located within easy access of the new Southern Motorway, which when complete in mid 2013 will provide a more efficient and reliable route between the city, Lyttelton Port and south west Christchurch.   Access on and off the motorway will be available at the Curletts Road interchange.

Additionally, Wigram Business Park is located only 8.5km from Christchurch International Airport and 6km from the City Centre.

Land Stability

Located in south west Christchurch, Wigram Business Park has seen no evidence of earthquake damage. Extensive geotechnical testing has been completed across Wigram Skies by environmental and engineering consultants, Tonkin & Taylor.

Test results have described liquefaction risk for the development as ‘insignificant’ for both moderate Serviceability Limit State (SLS) and large Ultimate Limit State (ULS) earthquakes.

Availability

There is limited Business 4 land available within the Christchurch area and a large proportion of this land is owned by developers.

This makes the chance to buy vacant Business 4 zoned land, particularly on the south western edge of the city unique.

Wigram Business Park has a variety of flexible options and can combine or alter sites to meet individual requirements. Alternatively Ngāi Tahu Property is able to offer companies a custom built turnkey solution.

The land is freehold and has no-building ties.

Environment

As part of the development, Ngāi Tahu Property will be making a substantial investment in the landscaping of the business park. This includes the naturalisation of Hayton Drain to bring it back to its original alignment through the middle of the site and enhance water quality.

Additionally, all hardstand areas from all roads and sites will be treated in ‘first flush’ water treatment swales to improve the quality of the stormwater before it proceeds to the Wigram Detention Basins for further treatment before being discharged.

Planting and landscaping will also continue using a large proportion of native plant varieties.
